Lossnay / Home ventilation

Fresh air for your home.

Lossnay brings filtered air in from outdoors and extracts stale indoor air. Its heat-recovery core transfers warmth between the separate air streams. On a cold day, that helps temper the fresh air before it reaches the rooms.

How it works

Fresh air comes from outside.

The intake draws from outdoors, even when the equipment is installed in the roof space. The system extracts stale air while supplying fresh air. A heat pump does a different job: it heats or cools the air in your rooms.

We can assess ventilation on its own or price it alongside a compatible ducted heat pump. We’ll check the duct routes, the outdoor intake and exhaust positions, and access for filter changes.

Summer evenings

When the air outside is cooler.

After a sunny day the house can still feel hot when the evening air has cooled. Compatible Lossnay units can automatically bypass the heat-recovery core and bring that cooler, filtered air indoors.

The fans still use electricity. How much cooling you get depends on the outdoor temperature and airflow. If you need to cool a room while it’s hotter outside, we can include a heat pump in the design.

Manufacturer case study / Rangiora

A low roof and wet bedroom windows.

The family wanted less condensation in their airtight home. The roof pitch made ceiling filters difficult to reach. A wall-mounted VL100 served the living area and a shallow, ducted ceiling unit served the hallway near the bedrooms, with filters accessible from below.

The owners reported less condensation and a home that felt warmer and drier. Mitsubishi Electric documents the project and credits Economech as the contractor.

Manufacturer case study / Christchurch

A vertical unit in the laundry.

At a different home, the roof hatch was too small for the unit. A vertical Lossnay fitted above the laundry freezer and supplied fresh air to three bedrooms and the living area. The position also left the filters within reach.
